+Founded in 2013 by friends Ian Elliot and Alex Brown, Elliot Brown exists for one purpose: to build wearable, affordable, and tough watches that are fit for any purpose. With collaborations with the United Kingdom’s Armed Forces, Mountain Rescue England & Wales, Land Rover, and other government agencies, the brand has done just that. Inspired by a team of Royal Marines who wanted a simple method of counting down to an event and then showing the elapsed time following it, the Beachmaster is the brand’s answer – a purpose-built watch for missions at sea and on land, with a name inspired by the Normandy Landings.
The Beachmaster features a 40mm stainless steel case with an impressive 300m of water resistance. The dial is divided into two components – an outer sunray-finished hour and minute track with an internal 24-hour track accented with an “amphibious assault” wave pattern befitting the watch’s name. The Beachmaster’s independently adjustable 24-hour hand corresponds with that internal 24-hour scale as well as the 120-click rotating inner bezel that features the watch’s signature mission timer, allowing users to track both the lead-up to a designated time (H-Hour) as well as the hours following.
Available in two variants with dark grey sandblasted PVD cases, the Blackout features a stealthy look with a fully blacked-out case, dial, and hands, while the Ghost features a light stone dial and hands with dark grey lume. Both are paired with a Tropic-style rubber strap and feature Swiss-made Ronda 515.24H quartz movements with an independently adjustable 24-hour hand, hacking, accuracy of -10/ 20 seconds a month, and a battery life of approximately 45 months.
